You may be wondering what the point is to filling your mind with subliminal messages and whether or not these messages make any real differences to our lives.
Actually our minds are being bombarded with subliminal messages every day. If you watch a lot of television or go to the cinema, this is especially so; in fact, it is the advertising world that is believed to be the pioneer in using subliminal concepts for practical purposes.
In 1958 an experiment was conducted for a period of six weeks during which time a group of people watching Kim Novak in the movie ‘Picnic', were subjected to flash messages displayed on the theatre screen. These messages told them to eat popcorn and drink a popular brand of soft drink. The results were astounding. The sales of the soft drink and popcorn increased by 18 and 55 per cent! But the degree of influence was not uniform. People who never ate them, could not be influenced.
Subliminal advertising is banned in the US. There are specific norms framed so as to discourage anyone from using subliminal messages. While we can be vigilant towards things that are visible and audible, we cannot be certainly sure about monitoring things like music, color and fragrance. For example, Chinese restaurants use a lot of red because the colour is known to stimulate hunger. Department stores uses a variety of fragrances, which also is a powerful means to communicate subliminal messages.
Taking this into account, the average adult's brain is literally a lifetime's worth of subliminal messages which we had no control over. These messages may have come from advertising, television, your teachers, your parents, your colleagues and friends and may be positive or negative, and either lead you to bigger and better things or prevent you from reaching your goals.
It makes sense then to take control over what is floating around your sub-conscious and reclaim your mind so that it may be used to create the life that you want to live. Isn't it better to receive the message that you are a healthy, wealthy and successful person than to receive the message that you are unworthy (a message that just about every adult believes to some extent).
Listening to a subliminal MP3 or CD for half an hour a day may just be the best way to do this. Simply download the MP3, leave it on silent if you must and you can be exposed to positive, life-changing messages of your choice and it won't interfere with any other activities that you need to do during the day.
