Pastors hear it too many times. A bride sees "red flags" but wants to go ahead with the ceremony because the wedding should be so wonderful. The wedding may turn out to be wonderful but the marriage is a disaster. She should've bailed out when she had the chance.

Wedding plans should never rule the day when it comes to your marriage. Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman. While the particular wedding may be something a bride has dreamed of her entire life, she should make her marriage the real priority.

For many a bride, as the wedding day gets closer, she may see little things in her groom that cause her wonder. She may give in to those feelings as just being "cold feet". But the majority of excuses usually become about the wedding. Heard any of these?

"The invitations have already gone out."
"My dress cost me a fortune; I'm going to wear it."
"My dress is so beautiful, it would be a shame not to wear it."
"We've already received gifts."
"The wedding plans are such that I can't stop them now."
"I can't cancel now, the wedding is so close."

Or the real biggie...

"It'll all work out. He'll change after the wedding."

If he's not everything you want now, he won't somehow become Mr. Wonderful just because you had a big day. Don't let the wedding be what your marriage is all about. Take the time to re-evaluate your concerns, goals, and future with this man. The wedding is one day. A marriage can be a lifetime.
